“Lover of my heart, my beloved one. You allure is sweet thing, [is as sweet as] honey”
A sentiment echoes throughout the past centuries. The world’s oldest
love poem is inviting you to Istanbul.
No other guests can make us happier than welcoming couples for the coming honeymoon! Thank you for bringing lots of love within you. Let’s go to the hotel and take a rest for a while. We need to go over your options for the first dinner. Maybe a nice restaurant or maybe a Dinner Cruise under city lights.
Throughout history, poets and writers liken Istanbul to an unreachable lover. For which all emperors fought; The locals can’t stay away from her, fascinate those who come to visit, and unlike any other for travelers... Maybe you can understand this bound at first day while stepping into history from Old City. The Byzantine Empires also built marvelous works that adorned the city to make Istanbul happy. The biggest and the most spectacular example is just standing on Sultan Ahmet Square for more than 1.500 years, is referred to as the “8th Wonder of World”. The precious Hagia Sophia. To impress their love they built their Palace in the center and erected the Million Stone as a pointzero indicator; To water their love, built a Basilica Cistern as a water reservoir and finally to celebrate their love they built up immense Hippodrome as an entertainment center for the people. The importance of Istanbul for the Ottomans was also very high. They left works that will both beautify Istanbul and keep the name of their wives alive. Sultanahmet Mosque, or as it is known the “Blue Mosque” with its six minarets dominating the Istanbul skyline, presents visitors with the best examples of the famous Iznik tiles. The biggest Turkish Bath was built for Hurrem Sultan, the wife of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire Ibrahim Pasha hosted his wife in his palace, which is Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts today.. This part of the program was designed according to the wishes of the ladies; We’re going to the old market! Men know that gifts will remind women of an unforgettable moment. Old trade center Grand Bazaar is union of different sections “bedesten” and buildings “hans”. It posses around 5 thousand shops and welcome hundred thousands of daily visitors. Now comes the moment when you will meet eyes again in a traditional Turkish restaurant. “I made you Istanbul, Istanbul you Its green is more green, its blue is more blue now, all the parts of this city tells about you” We have read in history books that even the Old City Walls surrounding the historical peninsula could not prevent this love. The Golden Horn seperated to parts, chains had blocked the entrance boats were brought into water over the hill. If Istanbul’s land is its body, then its sea is its hair. The best places to observe this in the city are the Golden Horn coast, and also after 380 m air travel by Cable Car, when you reach to top, you will be introduced to french man Pierre Loti and his love. It is not over, when you sail to the Bosphorus all palaces, mosques, seaside villas, suspended bridges, forteresses they all have something to say you. Think about all these when you return to your hotel.
